FAQ

Find some of our most frequently asked questions

Why is my laser printer not printing after installing a new toner?

Did you pull off the tag on the side of the cartridge? This tag must be removed completely in order to for your printer to access the toner. If you have done this, and it is still not printing, contact us.

Can I replace the colour ink with black ink cartridge?

Unfortunately not, the black slot is for black and the colour slot for colour. The two cartridges are also slightly different in design and should not fit in the incorrect slot.

However, some printers will allow you to set them to print greyscale.

What is a tricolour cartridge?

Tricolour cartridges are cartridges that contain the three primary ink colours namely cyan, magenta and yellow in one ink cartridge.
When mixed and used with a separate cartridge containing black ink, these printers can represent a similar number of colours as a professional four-colour press.

However, tricolour cartridges have a fundamental drawback: if you, for instance, print a lot of light blue-shaded material, you can run out of cyan ink and have to replace the cartridge even if you have a great deal of magenta and yellow ink left.

With a tricolour ink cartridges you replace the whole cartridge, meaning you could be throwing away unused ink.

What is your return policy?

Wrong purchase Returns Policy for open items:
We have a non-negotiable returns policy on opened items purchased in error. We do not refund these items as our suppliers will not exchange or refund opened items. Ensure that you have the correct cartridges before opening the packaging.

Faulty items Returns Policy:
Manufacturers only refund faulty cartridges if it can be proven to be faulty. In many cases, the machine and not the cartridge is at fault. Original invoice must be presented, validation of the fault and original packaging. If the product is below replacement weight, we will send the cartridge to the manufacturer for testing. Only once they have confirmed that the cartridge is, in fact, faulty can we offer you a refund or exchange.

Wrong purchase Returns Policy for unopened items:
If you return an unopened item for exchange within a 30 day period, we will gladly exchange it subject to proof of purchase. Please ensure that you have your invoice as proof of purchase.

Special order Returns Policy:
Any special order items require a deposit. If returned, the deposit will be forfeited, as our suppliers are not obliged to accept such returned stock.

How can I get the most from my inkjet printer?

By performing regular maintenance functions.

  1. On your computer select the Start button.
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Control Panel
  4. Double click on Printers & Faxes
  5. Select your printer from the list by right clicking on it
  6. A menu will appear. Click on Printing Preferences / Properties
  7. Select Maintenance / Services
  8. Run Nozzle Check
  9. Next Run Head Cleaning
  10. Then Run Print Head Alignment
  11. Finally, perform a Maintenance run at least once a month. Especially if you have not used your printer for some time. A Head Clean basically blows ink through the nozzle plates, opening any clogged nozzles.

Never touch the circuitry or nozzle plates on the cartridge as this could damage the cartridge. Never leave a cartridge in direct sunlight as this will cause the ink to expand and may lead to leaking. Have your printer serviced regularly. Contact your printer manufacturer to find out when your printers service is due. Tip: Have your printer serviced toward the end of its warranty.
